What should you do if you meet with an accident?

Singapore’s car fatality rate is higher than we think it is. Based on road statistics, Singapore’s road fatality rate of 2.73 per 100,000 citizens is higher than that of London, Hong Kong and Tokyo. So what should we do or not do when we encounter a car accident?

Accidents can be classified as minor and major accidents. Minor accidents include a busted headlight/taillight, a slight fender bender and small dents on the bodywork of a car. When met with a minor accident, you should pull over to the side and check if there are any damages on the exterior of the car.

Major accidents include causing one severe injury, including potential internal injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and other major injuries up to and including death. It also includes severe damages to the exterior and sometimes interior of the car.

We provide towing services if your car is severely damaged in an accident.

Nevertheless, regardless of the severity of the accident, you should never drive away from the accident scene without taking photographs of the scene. You should also report the accident and go for a check-up to ensure that you did not sustain any internal injuries.

At Sk Automobile, we provide repair services, accident and insurance claims and towing services:
